WE NEED FRESH LEADERSHIP

Why I'm Running

GUSD is at a critical moment.

Our students deserve a School Board that embraces fresh perspectives and a community-centered approach to decision-making. My belief in this district is deeply personal. My parents chose Glendale because of GUSD, and I am one of many alumni who returned to give back. Despite challenges, GUSD remains a strong, diverse, community-rooted institution with immense potential.

My decision to run stems from three core truths:

  • I have deep confidence in this district’s capabilities, shaped by 13+ years as a student and several years of active service as an alumnus.

  • I have not only witnessed the work of our teachers—I have lived it. My commitment to supporting them is both professional and personal.

  • Representation matters. Our youth’s voices are not heard as often as they should be, and that must change. We need fresh ideas and forward-looking leadership to guide GUSD into a thriving 21st-century future.

If elected, I will:

  • Bring the voice of a recent GUSD graduate to the board, ensuring decisions reflect the real experiences of our students.

  • Improve collaboration among the district, parents, teachers, staff, and community partners to strengthen English and math outcomes.

  • Expand alumni involvement by creating mentorship programs, enhancing college pathways, and developing opportunities for long-term community investment.

  • Advocate for increased resources and support for teachers and staff, who are the backbone of student success.

  • Prepare students for college, career, and life by expanding access to career pathways, mental health support, and real-world learning opportunities.

  • Ensure student, family, and community voices are central to every major policy decision.

I also recognize the serious challenges facing GUSD today: structural funding instability, a growing retention and respect crisis among educators, and stagnant English and math proficiency. These issues cannot be solved through temporary fixes or top-down mandates. They require genuine collaboration, strong partnerships with labor, and a shared commitment to building a sustainable foundation for student success.

The past several years have been incredibly difficult for students, families, and educators—and I’ve been there every step of the way. From board meetings marked by division and protest to moments of unity that revealed the true strength of our community, I have stood with GUSD because this district is my home. I will continue to stand with it as we confront new challenges, elevate our students, and strengthen the working conditions of our teachers and staff.

I believe GUSD’s best days are ahead. With leadership rooted in service and collaboration, we can build a district where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.

I’m ready to serve.
